COMPETITION RULES

REGISTRATION

  1. Each team member must be registered and have a signed waiver on file with the Twin Cities Beach Blast no later than one hour before the competition start time.

  2. Registration is free.

  3. Teams cannot exceed (5) people.

  4. Registration opens at 9:00 a.m. Building begins at 10 a.m. Judging at 2 p.m. Awards announced directly after.

  5. Space is limited and registration could close at any time.

  6. Registered teams each receive a 10' x 10' plot.

  7. Competition is not open to our sponsors, employees or members of Twin Cities Beach Blast or their families.

  8. In the event of severe weather, cancellations or delays will be posted on www.tcbeachblast.com, www.facebook.com/tcbeachblast, www.twitter.com/tcbeachblast, and announced on local media.

SCULPTURE REQUIREMENTS​​

  1. Participants may use shovels, pails, watering cans and carving, shaping, or wood.

  2. No sand additives or glue are allowed.

  3. Use of props should be limited.​

  4. All foreign material must be removed from the beach at the end of the event.​

CLASSES

Friends Class: Groups/organizations, friends, and intermediate builders
Family Class
: From same family household: 1-2 adults, all other team members ages 17 and under.

AWARDS & PRIZE MONEY - EACH CLASS:

1st Place: $100

2nd Place: $75

3rd Place: $50

Best in Show: $300

COMPETITION

  1. All creations will be judged on the basis of creativity, craftsmanship, visual attractiveness and presentation.

  2. At the start of judging, plots must be clear of all building material.

  3. Judges’ decisions are final.
